LITHOGRAPHY
with Kate Zizys
Tuesday
nights for 7 weeks July 28th-September 8th 5.30-8.30pm
at Monash Uni. Churchill Printmaking Studio
to the left of Switchback Gallery, Ada Crossley
Drive. Cost $185 (or $165 conc’) includes technical
notes and materials, valued at $35.
Although a very old technique this
method of printmaking is still used by contemporary
artists in specially equipped studios. The beauty
of lithography is that a print made by this process
is directly from the artist’s drawing. No other
printmaking method can so accurately reproduce the
mark made by the artist’s hand. Modern examples
and historical reference material will be used in
this course; participants will take home a small
edition of lithographs printed from their stone
drawing. Lithography is an excellent way to
develop your folio and improve drawing skills.
